Wolfgang K. Meyer-Hayoz studied mechanical engineering, visual communication and industrial design and graduated from the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design. After a number of years as an in-house designer in industry, he founded the Meyer-Hayoz Design Engineering Group in 1985. The multiple award-winning company works in the fields of medical engineering, biotechnology, life sciences as well as on the design of machines, robots and other appliances. The company also advises start-ups as well as multinationals in the areas of design strategy, industrial design, user-interface design, temporary architecture and communication design.
From 1987 to 1993, Wolfgang K. Meyer-Hayoz was honorary president of the Swiss Design Association (SDA). He serves as jury member on international design panels and is a member of the Association of German Industrial Designers (VDID) and the Swiss Management Society (SMG). In addition, he is a member of the group of supporters for the Institute of Marketing at the University of St. Gallen and chairs change management and turnaround projects in the field of design strategy.
